Is the following a scam? I just successfully made the payment right now but I just received an email notification from PayPal about the account limit. Did you receive any? The least an expanded account could accept is $1,000 that's why I am required to send in an extra funds which will automatically expand the receiving limit on your PayPal account Did you receive confirmation mail about acc limit from PayPal

You never pay any upfront fee as a seller.

Ignore scammers that send fake Paypal emails telling you that you need to pay an upfront fee to expand/verify/upgrade to a business account/or any other reason to accept a payment.

You would certainly never have to send funds especially via another payment processor/bitcoins/ or tokens/vouchers of any sort.

Any fee is auto deducted by Paypal at the same instant the remainder of the payment is credited to your Paypal account balance.

No funds in your balance = you have not yet been paid, even pending/held payments will still show in your Paypal account activity.

Just had the same from Facebook Marketplace, someone called Malorzata.

"I’m currently out of the town and I won’t be back now until next week would you be willing to meet my husband? I can ask him to meetup with you today or tomorrow Do you accept bank transfer or PayPal .?

My paypal email given.

Am done with the payment now

I have successfully made the payment now,Did you receive any payment confirmation in your email inbox or junk folder now

(pinged me for response as she hadn't heard back within 1 minute)

Me - I got an email from a fake PayPal email. I'm not stupid

Email from [removed]

Yes! i received the same email from PayPal , well that your account isn’t business so you can’t get credited so i am required to send in an additional payment of £100 to expand your account limit to business so you can get credited can i trust you that once i send the additional payment you’ll refund me back immediately.

You have nothing to worry about this has happen to me before I just need to get send the additional payment so you will be fully credited with a total sum of £200

Reported on Facebook as a scammer.  Paypal password changed. Is there any way my Paypal account can be hacked by them?
