Requesting a refund from an account that has disappeared.

When I paid the merchant they asked me to use the friends and family option but I didn’t. I used the goods and services option much to their annoyance. This should have alerted me that something was as up. When I realised that nothing was ever going to arrive, I tried to request a refund but the account had gone. Do I stand any chance of getting my money back?

If you can see the transaction in your PayPal account, you can use "Report a Problem" button to request refund as Item not recieved
