After reporting the unauthorized transaction and resolving it in my favor, and after the bank reversed the payment for the transaction, my PayPal balance was charged the cost of the transaction - 888 euros. I reversed the payment to PayPal for a transaction that I had not made at my bank branch right after I noticed the outgoing transfer. at the same time, report the transaction to PayPal, where I was granted credit. So I was covered, so I shouldn't have been charged for the transaction .After reversing the transfer to PayPal, I still had my money in the bank, so everything was fine...However, after the notification was resolved in my favor, my PayPal balance was charged with the amount of the transaction reported and resolved in my favor.it's a really large amount of 888 euros increased by a few euros. probably penalty percentages. and I was informed that if I do not settle the balance, a debt collection agency will take care of it .Therefore, fearing problems with the history in Schuffa, I made a transfer from the bank to my PayPal balance. The case started on May 3, 2023. To this day, I have not recovered the money I had to pay, and Pay Pal, despite many attempts, has not yet explained exactly what happened. In the responses, PayPal indicates that the refund has been made (I note that I reversed the payment to PayPal in the bank. Perhaps this is what they mean when they talk about the refund being made. However, I cannot determine this because PayPal did not provide me with data regarding this refund, even though I asked. Due to the lost cash became complicated in my private life, this money was saved for a specific purpose. How to assert your rights and get your money back? Is only the court involved? please help 900 euro its much.

Hello @AndrewWojtasik

Thanks for making your first post in the PayPal Community!

I'm sorry to hear about the frustration caused by the unauthorized transaction back in May. If I understand correctly, it sounds like you opened an unauthorized case with both PayPal and your bank, which resulted in both being granted a refund. When you first open an unauthorized case with PayPal, and it's granted, the refund is immediately sent to your bank to try to cover the unauthorized payment. This is to help prevent negative balance fees at your bank.

If you open a case with your bank also, your bank will notify PayPal that it was opened and again when the outcome is determined. If the bank issues you a refund, the refund is actually covered by PayPal. In the case where PayPal has already issued a refund on your behalf through their case, the money is then collected from the PayPal balance. If you don't have a PayPal balance, it can fall negative.

To help see these transactions, I recommend creating an activity download that includes all transactions for the week before and after the transaction occurred. You can find the steps here. Then, create a bank statement for around the same time to compare the two and see when the refund was sent from PayPal and when it would have reached your bank within a few days.

I hope this information helps explain what likely happened and leads you to see the different transactions on your statements. If this isn't what happened, or you can't find them, please reach out to Customer Support again. They'll be able to provide you with account-specific details to help you get to the bottom of this.
