Did you sort this out? My friend was being charged $9.99 each week for a few months here in Australia before noticing. She formally complained to PayPal who merely replied that these payments are "not ununauthorized... case closed". WTF?

Check if they had a subscription set up.
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments.''
