Random refund email. Is it a scam?

Hello, I received a refund notice email supposedly from paypal. I wasn't expecting it but it said that it was from adidas Australia, which I had recently done some shopping with. I opened the email and it looks like a completely legitimate refund email from paypal (it used my full name, a retailer I had recently purchased from, didn't have any links to confirm anything). The only thing that could point to it being fake is the fact that the mastercard that the refund was going to, isn't my card. So is this a legitimate email but they have the wrong card, they accidentally sent the email to the wrong person or is it a scam email? I just don't understand what the goal of the email was if it was a scam since it didn't ask me to click anything or reply or anything.

Hello @AlmightyBeing, @Swam

Welcome to the PayPal Community and thanks for reporting that email! It looks like those links provided in the previous message do not link to an actual Help Center article, my apologies there. Here's the Help Center article you may find useful: How do I spot and report a fake PayPal email or website?

I hope that helps and have a great day!
