Potential Scam?

I'm relatively new to PayPal. Someone sent me a screenshot claiming they sent a payment but they claimed I need to send them a clearance fee in order to receive the payment. At the bottom of the screenshot, it says, "Receiver needs to pay for a clearance fee of $35 for payment to drop immediately into the receiver account." I'm assuming this is a scam, as from the research I did, it indicates that PayPal doesn't hide payments at all and any kind of fee would've already been applied/shown up, and I would've paid it to PayPal and not the actual person. Is this correct? I haven't sent anything because it sounded fishy to me but I'm assuming because nothing has showed up then it's not real.
