Seller mis sold item on website. When arrived had parts missing and box was damaged. This was a collectors item. Paypal resolution decision means I won case yet still have pay for return postage and customs fees. Although case proved in my favour the return postage which could be £40 plus customs fees of £50 I had pay to get item aren't refunded. Meaning that if I return item I will be making a loss of £90. Almost 2 /3 what item cost in first place. When spoke paypal about this just met with standard we only cover intial amount and postage to send. Return postage and customs fees etc have be paid by the buyer. How is this fair when a case is proved in your favour and I used paypal for safety reasons that you end up being significantly out of pocket. On speaking to paypal there is no redress for this issue. Paypal should have measures in place for when case is proved in buyers favour that all fees and postage are paid by the seller whose clearly at fault. PayPal people are like robits don't even try to.think outside box or come up.with alternate plan.

In the event of a dispute you choose your seller and not Paypal so you need to bear in mind possible return trackable costs before you go ahead and buy from that seller / country.

Paypal state this >>
IMPORTANT: You may be required to return the item to the seller or other party we specify as part of the settlement of your claim. PayPal Buyer Protection does not entitle you to reimbursement for the return shipping costs that you may incur.

You also have the option to do a chargeback via your card issuer instead of a Paypal dispute if you funded your Paypal payment via a credit card.

Yes that's paypal official line that doesn't make it right. I'm not to know that the goods weren't as described when buying and that even if my case is proven I still have pay return costs. I'm asking is this a fair solution for buyers?. Just because that's been paypals policy since inception does t mean it's not outdated or.unfair towards buyers using PayPal. There isn't any mention I could find of where other costs in purchasing item would have to be met by buyer even if a resolution case is ruled in your favour. Amazon and eBay under certain terms refund all return postage costs and associated customs fees etc. So why can't paypal change their outdated rules as well.? Surely if a seller sells an item that isn't as described and that case is proven then the rules need be changed and associated costs, return postage and customs fees should be liable to the seller who mis sold the item. Otherwise your going get sellers fraudently mi selling items in hope that buyers return costs will be so high they won't return it.. I will now avoid using PayPal for any sales whether there domestic or In ternational. Due to this bias towards the seller. So if paypal is trying drive customers away then your doing a great job.

Well you would know if you read the small section on Paypals buyer protection policy before using Paypal to buy items and process your payments for you.

Amazon and Ebay actually have the items listed on their site so they can verify sellers that use their site. Paypal does not list anything, they are a payment processor and process your payments for you to your chosen seller. Even credit cards have terms and conditions and don't cover you for every chargeback you may need to do.

So if paypal is trying drive customers away then your doing a great job.

What the heck do I have to do with Paypal??? Whether you use them or not bothers me not one jot.
