Paypal payments are pretty instant, even if on hold or pending they will SHOW in your paypal account activity.
Do you have USD added as a receiving currency in your paypal wallet + have you confirmed your email address to be able to receive funds?
If so then be very careful of SCAMS that send you FAKE paypal emails telling you that you have been paid when you haven't.
Especially if someone has made sure you will accept Paypal or encouraged you to set up an account.
