PayPal holding money for 2+ years

For a colleagues leaving do a money pool was set up to raise money to buy her presents (this may not be an option anymore). £317.17 was raised from people at our site however, limitations were put on my paypal account. They asked for extra information which I provided but decided to perma ban my account. I was informed the money would be held for 180 days and then I will be told how to withdraw so I could pay back all my collogues. Fast forward 2 years paypal have still got that money and will not let me withdraw. Surely this is now just stealing. When asked about the limitation I don't get a thorough response other than it doesn't follow user agreement. if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

If you have been told your Paypal account has been permanently limited then Paypal tends to hold any funds for 180 days. This is the same time frame that buyers have to open Paypal disputes.

If no disputes are opened in 180 days then normally you are allowed to withdraw the funds. That is as long as you are over 18, account is in your legal name and the account is registered in the country where you reside.

Sometimes they confiscate funds under this policy.

Paypal also may request further documentation from you before you can withdraw those funds.

Contact options for Paypal are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages...

1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.
Or
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a private direct message via Social Media on Facebook, Twitter/X, or Instagram pages.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I have the same. But the amount of my sum is way bigger (almous 9000 USD).

180 days done but I still cannot send money to card or bank account. I tried to communicate via chats but all I got is answers from system (automatic answers). It looks like stealing my money. Did you get any help since then?
