I had a company I was doing monthly automatic payments with in 2022. In November 2022 I cancelled all continuing automatic payments. So no charge Dec 2022, Jan 2023, or Feb 2023. All of a sudden today there's an unauthorized automatic payment charge. PayPal opened a dispute ticket and closed it saying I had to speak to the company. This is their responsibility. What I don't understand is why PayPal is hands off. This is a security issue with PayPal and they just cancelled the dispute case. Does anyone have any advice? Is this happening to anyone else? Otherwise I'll just not do any automatic payments with PayPal.

Check if you had a subscription set up and if its still active.
If still active then it was still authorised and paypal would still pay out if requested to by the company.
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments.''
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
