I get these notifications to add money but no amount or who is requesting it, makes me very suspicious and why the lack of information?

I'm sorry to hear about the suspicious notification you received asking you to add money to your account. If you receive an email, please refer to this Help Center article to learn how to spot and report phishing emails. If you find that the email was sent from PayPal, it sounds like you may have a negative balance. You can learn more about negative balances and how to resolve them here. If it was caused by a denied payment or an open dispute, you would have received an email notifying you when it happened. You may also be able to find more information by creating an Activity Download.
