I recently received a large unexpected payment, from someone I don't know. Not goods and services, it was a friends and family transaction. I initially filed a fraudulent transaction and expected PayPal to return the money, but the just closed the case. I got no reply contacting the sender. Eventually, I was advised by Paypal to refund the payment which is what I did. So I thought was the end of it.
But then, the day after the same person sends the same amount of money again!!!
Is this some sort of scam? It is difficult to see how a fraudster can make money from this. There doesn't seem to be any pishing going on. But perhaps they have taken over the senders account and are syphoning off the refunds?
Any advice? Should I just refund again?
