I bought a service on discord for a game account and I payed the money the seller requested then after receiving the payment he blocked me on discord and basically ran away with my money without me receiving the item I payed for, I opened a claim on PayPal and reported the problem but the case was closed because he says it was a successful transfer and I try to open up another case for it to try to recover the money I spent since i didn’t receive the product the seller was advertising, any idea on what I can do to help get my money back?

How did you pay ie which option did you select to send the funds?
How did you fund the paypal payment?
Which dispute type did you open?
Did you escalate to a claim?
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Unfortunately I payed through family and friends so the individual who scammed me is protected from any possible refunds, I called customer service and they couldn’t help me out because of the protection that type of payment involved so customer service advised me to claim a dispute through my bank but in all honesty I don’t think they would be able to do anything either because I confirmed it was me through a text I received through my bank so the payment went through and I doubt I will be seeing my money again, Sucks but I guess lesson learned, never paying through family and friends again 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
