Help - Account Fraud - Feeling scared

I have been frauded and after speaking to Paypal wonder why since Paypal has all my money already can't they pay me back and go after the frauder, instead of leaving me desolate without a penny to my name.

Why didn't they pick up the repeat transaction over and over again before they hit me too much?

I'm scared and frightened even after resetting my password.

How much real protection does Paypal really provide?

Hello @Temp20240104j and @violetmaile2023

Thanks for visiting the PayPal Community; welcome!

I'm sorry to hear about the unauthorized transactions that have taken place, @Temp20240104j. If you have not yet filed a dispute, you can do so by following the steps on our Help Center here. If the payments were "pending," the dispute wouldn't be able to go through unless they were updated to a "completed" status. After filing the dispute, to add another layer of security to your PayPal account, you can set up 2-Step Verification. If you had filed a dispute and it was denied, please reach out to Customer Support to discuss opening an appeal.

@violetmaile2023, I understand you still haven't received an update on your cases, and I apologize for any inconvenience it has caused. You can review the current status of your cases within the Resolution Center. If you need any further assistance, you'd want to work with Customer Support by selecting 'Contact' on our website or by sending a private message on X (Twitter), Facebook, or Instagram

I hope you both receive your refunds soon!
