Quick question, and quasi-scam warning, I guess.
So, just had nearly $2,000 stolen from my bank account because I stupidly left my bank information in my paypal (and not just my card). Some group named Edge Opti Tech LTD, with an SMSEdge.io domain charged a subscription I never signed up for or gave my card information to. I'm super, super careful with my information. First time anything like this has happened to me. Ever. Seems like they were able to do it by taking advantage of the Automatic Payment system PayPal has. But it doesn't answer how the bank nor PayPal didn't flag this right away. I don't spend money like this, which should've triggered that alone.
I've already called the bank, and they've filed a claim and such. Gotta go in and make a new account with them. Hopefully all goes through with that.
However, I'm still worried about the security of the account. Is it even safe to be using this account? I've changed the password and removed the account + card from PayPal. But the guys who did it are still sitting in my account and I have no way to block them since they aren't in my contacts. Is there anyone here on PayPal's staff who can block the said account?
