Dispute taking forever

Purchased a watch 12/31, seller marked shipped 1/8. Contacted seller when item had no tracking and they admitted they hadn't actually shipped due to being in the hospital. Said he would ship the following day. By Jan 17th when there was still no tracking movement I opened a dispute. Seller responded on Jan 23 withe the exact same Jan 8 tracking info they had admitted they had never shipped. PayPal has now moved the expected resolution date back 3 times. A date which they claim normally takes 5 days. It's now Feb 29 and still nothing. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you get it resolved?

I feel your pain.  I placed an order in early Feb and then the seller "refunded" me on the 11th saying that they would not return to post it in time.  They also suggested that I contact Paypal to sort the refund "quickly".
In the minutes after this they added fake tracking details (which they claim PayPal told them to) and started to blank my messages.

Ask it stands the date for resolution (should be 5 days) has been moved 6 times and the seller has blocked me, cancelled the refund and left me high and dry (nearly £1000 out of pocket).

I have had no information from PayPal and everytime I contact them they tell me to watch my email for more info.

  • I have had no correspondence from PayPal
  • I have chased and asked for escalation
  • I have complained officially

The answer is always the same - watch your email and you are a valued customer.

It is an absolute joke.
