I immediately tried to cancel a charge within seconds. It was an accident and it was a scammer. Paypal provided no help in canceling. I don't know what to do now. I tried to just close my account all together and it would not let me.
Paypal covers you for non receipt of item OR item received but not as described.
Sadly you can't cancel a completed payment as they don't cover buyer remorse.
You would need to contact the merchant you purchased from and request a cancellation and refund and if they refused then open whichever dispute turns out to be the correct one.
