Buyer says that paypal is holding money until i provide tracking information

I sold something and the buyer would pay me through paypal. Now that person says that paypal is holding the money until i provide tracking information. I didn’t get an email from paypal and i can’t see anything from this transaction in my paypal account. I would guess if paypal is holding the money i would get any sort of notification? I guess this is a scam?

Yes, it’s a scam. Buyer don’t usually know if PayPal holds a sellers payment. And when someone really pays, you will see record of payment, even if PayPal put a hold on the payment.
