Buyer protection?

I recently bought a physical item through an invoice for the first time, at this point it's the seller's responsibility to send it out right? I paid and the status says paid/completed. I'm under the impression that paypal buyer protection exists but still apprehensive about this experience. I usually use platforms that have paypal integration but this time around I used only paypal. Still a bit iffy about how invoices work, any info is appreciated.

As long as you send using the goods/services option then you have buyer protection for non receipt of item OR item received but not as described.

However that protection is not a 100% coverall, so your best bet is to go and read up on it so you can risk assess your transactions.
