Buyer protectio issues for counterfeit- FAKE item from Alibaba -Advice needed

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience buying something counterfeit from Alibaba and paying with paypal?

I bought a counterfeit item from Alibaba and opened a case on Alibaba first but scam seller was not honest enough and I feared that if I sent it back to him via Alibaba he would give me wrong address and never refund me.

So I opened case via Paypal to get refunded (for a FAKE counterfeit item) or get right address and protection to send it back.

Yet, despite providing Paypal black on white evidence that the item is counterfeit (confirmation of original manufacturer) and being sold as real brand I did not get refunded. First they told me this issue fell under warranty and was therefor not protected (which is wrong). Then they just closed the whole case as if I never opened one.

This feels really fishy to me.

Anyone any experience or advice?

I understand your concern about the outcome of the dispute. Our claims process is an arbitration service we offer to help resolve disagreements between buyers and sellers. We review all cases objectively and make a fair decision based on the verifiable information that is available at the time. If you'd like to appeal the outcome of a claim, you can do so within 10 days of the case closing. I recommend contacting the support team to request an appeal for your case.

I did appeal case and they said they would revieuw evidence in the light of being counterfeit. Yet the case was closed a few minutes after having it reopened. When I asked on what basis it was closed I get the answer that they again did not look at the evidence in the light of being counterfeit and that the seller had his side covered.

This is not in any way an objective way of judging a case. Especially not because I posted black on white evidence that the item was counterfeit.

After having used Paypal for many years; I am completely desilusioned in it being a just system. Something went fundamentally wrong in this case to the degree I lost all faith in Paypal.
