I sold an item that the person had for 4 weeks and he went to install and he wasnt happy with them..paypal made them send the item back to me.....they got a refund. But the item that was sent back was not in the original condition as when I sold it. I appealed and one hour later it was denied. ??....

If every seller that lost a claim and had to issue a refund could state the item returned was not in the original condition so the buyer was not refunded then it would make the dispute process meaningless.

If a buyer wins a dispute then they get a refund on return of the item back to the seller with tracking and at their own expense.

If you think it was not sent back in the correct condition then you have the right to take your own private legal action against the buyer.

99% of the time the buyer will win even when the item is the way they purchased it. Do you think paypal has experts that know vintage items? It's much easier to side with the buyer and that's what paypal does. My point was....after almost 4 weeks of it sitting in their possession.....in this case a different climate.....which had a negative effect on this particular item....a layman would have no idea good bad or otherwise even when I had pictures before the sale.

Personally if a buyer of mine is not happy with an item then I just tell them to return it for a refund.

Doesn't happen that often and if I miss out in that the item is returned damaged then I factor in the fact its a risk when you decide to sell things online.
