An item I paid for was "taken down" where is my money

The email telling me this was from ebay. I asked for a refund via paypal since I paid here. If the item was taken down, my money should of been refunded. And why was the item taken down, did ebay take it down or the seller. I have no one to ask these questions. Was it fraud, is this normal

now there is a new policies between PP and eBay , 

pp like you it is the money sender , eBay acting on behalf on the seller ,

you should open a dispute on eBay site if your problem not solved you can take a next step by asking pp to help.

I have a dispute on paypal. Waiting for seller to respond, he has until friday. Not sure what happens next.

Also, was the item taken down by seller or ebay?

Ebay probably remove it and cancelled the sale.

If you have opened a dispute for non receipt of item (do NOT select unauthorised) then make sure you escalate to a claim before the 20 days are up, and add all the information you need to before escalating.

Once escalated Paypal will review and if the seller does not send a tracking number you should get a refund.
