Unauthorized Zoom charges

An email from alerting me about out a money request indicated me to call Paypal if I did not recognize the person requesting $699.99 At this number PayPal staff asked me to open a Zoom phone to monitor my account. I approve a Zoom monthly charge of $22.53 as I was told tha this amount will be reimbursed. Inexplicably I now have two charges of $22.53 and a $148.64. I disputed the $148.64 charge. Paypal replied within an hour denying my dispute and adding that the charge was consistent with my Paypal use, which is false. I have not used Paypal for more than a year and for occasional Ebay payments. I appealed PayPal denial of my claim and waiting for a response. I am thinking I was victim of a scam as not only I have unauthorized Zoom charges but also the Paypal staff requested that I transfer Coinbase funds to a Coinbase wallet. Has anybody had a similar issue?

I've also had $250 per month of unauthorized Zoom charges.  I've only taken one Zoom call in my life.  It was from someone who wanted me to talk to a group of people.  It didn't even work right because no one could see me, which is no loss.  Now I'm being billed $250 per month with no way to dispute the charge with Zoom.  They don't have an email.  Phone calls sit on hold for 45 minutes and hung up.  They only communicate with snail mail.  Zoom is owned by PayPal and this is the only way I have to communicate.  I'm waiting for Zoom to reach into my PayPal account or my bank account linked to my PayPal.  This is the same tactic Wells Fargo and others use to sign up new customers.  I didn't agree to anything, but now I have to waste my time to fix Zoom's fraud.  Any bets that their charges will end up on my Credit Report?  For all the good it will do, I've reported it to the FCC, CA Attorney General Consumer Fraud and my Congressman.  How long do American citizens have to put up with these crooked companies who don't pay taxes and game the system.
