Estimates on Paypal

Today i have been contacted by a stranger offering me money seemed legit, but I’m not stupid. I got an email saying that theres an estimate of £2000 and i accepted it however, this person said to clear the international fees i have to pay a £70 fee. This is in bitcoin? Which i find strange as surely PayPal would sort any fees out themselves? I haven’t done anything luckily, but i wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this? I haven’t given them any information and haven’t bought anything.

It’s a scam. An estimate is a way for a buyer and seller to come to an agreement on a project or job. Then the estimate gets converted to an invoice. It’s not a payment to you.

A stranger with a PayPal account sent you a fake estimate, misusing the PayPal Estimates functionality to try to scam you out of £70.

You won’t be paid the £2000. Just ignore the scammer.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
