Buyer Chargeback Scam Help

Hello, I don't use paypal much. But my wife is pregnant, so I decided to sell one of my watches on reddit. The buyer agreed to purchase the watch and sent payment via F&F, which I didn't realize would be a problem at the time. I shipped the item per his instructions, and he signed for the item via UPS. He then confirmed receipt of the item on our reddit messages. A couple of days later, he issued a chargeback with his bank. I sent all of the info to paypal to show that I sold the watch, and he received it. I also messaged the moderators of the reddit sub, and they had numerous complaints against this buyer over the last few days and banned him because of it. I sent these messages to paypal for the dispute as well.    I lost the dispute, and paypal has put my account in the negative. I called paypal customer support, and there was nothing they could do since it was a F&F payment, and the buyer charged back through his bank. I have good credit, and I am really worried that collections will tank my credit score. I made a complaint to the California AG's office, but I don't know what else I can do. Has anyone had an issue similar to this and taken it to small claims court? Am I just **bleep** out of my money and watch?   Thanks for any help. It's incredibly unfortunate timing for this to happen because I was planning on using that money for the baby's nursery.

Its against Paypal rules to accept a family / friends payment for selling goods and you risk your Paypal account being limited if you do so.

A buyer would not be able to open a Paypal dispute for non-receipt of item or item not as described as they would have no Paypal buyer protection.

However they can still open a dispute for an unauthorised transaction OR do a chargeback (via their card issuer) and you may well lose as you would have no Paypal seller protection.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.
