Sorry we cannot connect to PayPal. Please try again in a few minutes. Magento 2.1.8 braintree

Hi,

We have just connected Paypal sandbox to Braintree sandbox account.

When we test to make a purchase in frontend with Paypal via Braintree, we get "Sorry we cannot connect to PayPal. Please try again in a few minutes." in Paypal's popup window.

We are using Magento 2.1.8 as platform with its default integration to Braintree. App has been created in paypal sandbox account, and credentials have been added to braintree sandbox account and braintree sandbox credentials have been added to payment methods in magento admin area. We use onestepcheckout.

Does anyone have any idea on what needs to be done to make this work?

Hello,

I can't connect to that site, it's being reported as potentially containing malware. Please check the extensions / addons your using on the site and disable all except the standard ones which came as part of the default installation and let me know so I can test it again.

Hello,

We are receiving a similar error when a user tries to purchase an online subscription with PayPal.

Here is a URL where we have a lightbox offer for digitial subscriptions:

https://www.postandcourier.com/manage-subscription/

After selecting a payment term, registering as a user, payment options display (credit card of PayPal). When selecting PayPal and attempting to sign into PayPal, an error displays reading "Sorry we cannot connect to PayPal. Please try again in a few minutes."

Our payment processor is Braintree.

Could you please advise?

Thank you,

Laura

Hello,

If Braintree is your payment processor you would need to reach out to them for support, as I don't have access to their logs.

Just to clarify - the error message displays when trying to login/connect to PayPal.
