we get this error when creating a new (the first) application:

Something went wrong creating the application. Try again.

We also created a new business sandbox account, but this didn't work.

Above the (empty) list of applications there is an error message:

There was error retrieving applications. Please try again.

getting similar messages also trying to create new rest api app in the developer console. Had similar issues last week creating new sandbox accounts. That resolved itself early in the week, but on checking back today am unable to now create the apps. It doesn't fill one with confidence!

I am also experiencing the same issue. I called support and they told me to wait and check status updates but everything says "operational" and green.
