I am a hobbyist developer and am thinking I might make a shopping cart website, so I am doing some background research before I start

The pay pal part would just include a pay button, where one total amount would be paid for any items selected from my cart website, thing is I might be downloading content after payment so need to use IPN, I notice there is some code for asp.net c# mvc, but I am using the older webforms technology, will it work with webforms as I have found some code from a website or does it only work for mvc ?
