Error 10552 - Unconfirmed email

Hi, I am trying to set up a sandbox account but when I make the request from my client, I get an error with code 10552. From looking around this indicates that my account doesn't have a confirmed email address. I also found online that he sandbox environment doesn't send actual confirmation emails, and sends notifications instead. Is this true? Either way, I can't seem to receive the confirmation email in the actual email inbox, or in the notification area. Both the sandbox.paypal.com site and the developer.paypal.com sites have a notification area, but neither have any messages.
