I have code on a test server that has been working for years.  Now it errors.  This is in the error logs:

Using Payflow HTTPS interface at https://pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com
HTTPS request 1 / 2 failed: 500 Can't connect to pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com:443
HTTPS request 2 / 2 failed: 500 Can't connect to pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com:443
    Server response:
        RESULT ==> -1
        RESPMSG ==> Failed to connect to Payflow server

Has anything changed on your end?  It that still the correct URL?  Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello,

The URL is correct, ensure your connecting to one of the Payflow IP addresses listed in the following page :

https://www.paypal.com/us/selfhelp/article/what-are-the-ip-addresses-for-payflow-servers-ts1465

Please also note the removal of support for the "RC4" cipher as outlined in this external notification : https://www.paypal-status.com/history/eventdetails/8259

I've tested the "pilot-payflowpro" endpoint today and it responded correctly.

Was my post helpful? If so, please give me a kudos!
