Adaptive Payments - Can I Still Set This Up?

Just got off the phone with support and was told I can set up adaptive payments.

For me personally, I want to be able to set up split payments for one of the products in my shop that I am collaborating with someone on.

Can anyone help? I don't know where to begin with setting this up.

Do I need a plugin?
