Does anyone know an easy way to get summaries of payments to individual business or firms I do business with on a regular basis. I have looked at the history of reoccurring payments on my account, but there doesn't seem to be a way to sort and filter by year, month, etc.

Hello @rkovacic

Here are some additional resources that may be helpful when completing your taxes:

Financial Summary
PayPal's Financial Summary report for the previous year is a one-stop-shop of your PayPal account activity for the previous year. This report includes PayPal fees, refunds, payments, purchases, and other important financial information.

Here is how to view your Financial Summary Report for the previous year:

  1. Click Reports at the top of the page.
  2. Click Financial Summaries on the left side of the page.
  3. Click Financial Summary.
  4. Enter the date range you are interested in (for example, January 1, 2019, through December 31, 2019) and click Create report.

Transaction History
Here is how to see your transaction history:

  1. Click Activity at the top of the page. Here you can see all of your account activity, a specific transaction, or your most recent activity.
  2. To download the history, click the Download link at the top right corner of the box.
  3. Select the transaction type, date range, and format.
  4. Click Create Report.

Tips:

  • When downloading a large History Log, you may experience a delay.
  • PayPal will email you when your file is ready for download.
  • When your file is ready for download you can view the file by clicking “Recently Downloaded Logs” on the Download History page.
  • PayPal will save the last most recently completed, large History Log files (up to 12 reports).
  • Small logs download immediately and are not saved.
  • You can download Comma Delimited files as Excel Spreadsheets and Tab Delimited files as .txt documents.
  • If you use QuickBooks and are having trouble, please contact QuickBooks for additional assistance and information about their system requirements.

Select QIF file format to download to Quicken and IIF to download to QuickBooks. (QIF import is not supported after Quicken 2004, and IIF is not supported after QuickBooks 2008.)

Transaction Search
To find shipping charges in your Download Log:

  1.  Click Reports at the top of the page.
  2.  Click Activity download on the left side of the page.
  3.  Click on the magnifying glass for keyword searches.
  4.  Click the dropdown for "Transaction Type" and choose Shipping.
  5.  Choose your date range
  6.  Click Search.
  7.  Choose the type of file you want to download (PDF or Excel), then click Download.

This will create a quarterly report of PayPal USPS and UPS shipping charges, listing a total dollar amount at the bottom. You may repeat this process for each quarter and add up the figures to obtain your full year’s shipping charges.

To locate your eBay shipping charges, complete the following steps:

  1.     Click Reports at the top of the page.
  2.     Click Activity download on the left side of the page.
  3.     Click on the magnifying glass for keyword searches.
  4.     Under Report Search Criteria, type “eBay” into the “Enter Keywords” field.
  5.     Click the dropdown for "Transaction Type" and choose Billing Agreement Transactions (this will exclude eBay Fees payments).
  6.     Choose your date range.
  7.     Click Search.
  8.     Choose the type of file you want to download (PDF or Excel), then click Download.

This will create a quarterly report of eBay shipping charges, listing a total dollar amount at the bottom. You may repeat this process for each quarter then add up the figures to obtain your full year’s shipping charges.
