I received an IRS form 100-K from PayPal reporting around $2,200 in sales proceeds and 62 transactions. I don’t sell using PayPal. I only pay for services that I purchase using PayPal. My transaction history shows 7 or 8 charges and no sales (revenue being paid to me).
In a message, PayPal told me that they show no sales activity for me and no sales transactions. So, why did PayPal send me an IRS Form 1099-K with incorrect information? Is someone using my account to report income, but diverting the actual payments to another account? How do you get PayPal to issue a corrected Form 1099-K?

Others are reporting the same issue. I suspect possible fraud in my case. See https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Reporting/1099-K-Form/m-p/2583357
