How are people using PayPal to scam clients

First time I have ever had a problem with PayPal and so far it's like they don't want to know or care about there clients.

There is a company out there that uses PayPal as there payment portal but as soon as you click open the payment page it then tells you must add something else to your purchase, you have no way of stopping the purchase process. I opened another page and looked the site up to see if it was a scam, to which the result was yes, so with some hesitation I closed that page, at that moment my phone told me I had made a payment with PayPal.  In all my other purchases in the past the big blue button comes up  at the end that I'm making a purchase and I have to click it to acknowledge and the complete the purchase.

As soon as I could contact PayPal to report the issue all they could do was ask for a refund, that's all. They didn't really care that someone was using some tech to rip off there clients at all.

I guess it should be Pay Foe, because there not my Pal.

All I can say is I have a related issue kind of.. It’s the first time EVER having an issue with PayPal, you’re right in saying they don’t care anymore. I made a purchase that was evidently from scammers. For the first time PayPal said they sided with them. I was supposed to get a big box with some stuff in it. What came is a box the size of a phone case. Looking at the description, they put ‘household steam iron’. I would never buy that, even told PayPal. Have you been able to get ahold of an actual person on PayPal??

Yes, but it was pretty useless.
