Hi,
I bought an item on eBay and promtly payed via Paypal. However, a week later the seller messaged me saying that he did not have the item in question. Per my request, he initiated a refund, which kept pending for about 2 weeks until I finally received an email from Paypal saying that the refund had failed.
I opened a request on eBay and the seller initiated another refund. This one has been pending for about 10 days and today eBay automatically closed my request while I'm waiting for the refund to come through.
I'm afraid that it might fail again leaving me with no course of action. Does anyone have any advice?

If it fails then open a dispute on paypal.

Thank you for the quick responce. Hopefully, it will not come to that but I do not feel optimistic. This whole process has been draging on for a month.
