Cancelling pending payment

I'd like to know if i'm able to cancel the pending transaction when im someone thats supposed to get the money. I'm not sender.

Depends if its...

1. Pending as an echeque or

2. Pending in your paypal account as part of the new seller hold.

How can i check it? Because i only got an email about it and its not credited on my paypal account yet
