Issued a refund to the wrong person

Hi, I've been sick for a few days and knew I should not be dealing with money but,
yesterday I decided to refund a customer because the item he ordered from me,
a horn, could not be taken apart and was too long for the package. We arranged
that I would refund him and when I could get the thing packaged correctly I would
ship it on and he could pay me then. He's a trusted person so this is not an issue.
I go my PayPal account and issue a refund to previous customer. This was done
yesterday and as yet I've not heard a word from them. The amount is small and
I have no intention of going throught the hassle of getting it back only will not do
business with them again if it's not returned. I did send them an email this morning
apologizing for the inconvenience. I then issued a refund to the correct customer.
My concern is if PayPal is going to think I am doing something wrong. I've never
had a problem with my PayPal account, such as funds being withheld etc..
Am I worrying needlessly? Am I the only one whose acted so stupidly.

Refunds are given all the time.
Just send an e-mail to the seller who you accidently refunded and explain what happened.
An honest person would resend the payment.
If they don't there is nothing much you can do.

Lots of people don't check their paypal accounts regularly and paypal no longer sends an email when a refund is given, so the previous customer likely doesn't even know he's been refunded.
