What happens if someone sends me money over paypal but I dont have a card registered?

Can the money be saved as paypal credit and if so, can I just use that to buy stuff online like normal money? Because I have a gift card registered that cant recieve money, only spend money..

if you dont have a credit/debit card linked to your paypal, then yes i bieleve so you can use it for online purchases even still. The site has to accept paypal tho.
