Accepting Payments with only a linked credit card

Currently I only have a credit card linked to my PayPal account.  Can I still accept payments from people?  If so, where does the money go?  Does it get credited to my credit card, does the transaction get rejected, or does PayPal hold the funds until I link a bank account?
