deprecated billing agreements, direct debits

I understand that billing agreements are deprecated, but subscriptions do not work as we want to control the debit and have mixed payment intervals per shopping basket. What replaces billing agreements or will they still be provided in the future and deprecated just means they won't be maintained?

we also don't clear that is the plan or replace from PayPal but current subscription feature doesn't work for us to replace current flow.
