let's assume we have a merchant selling on a ecom Platform A. On this platform the merchant connected his Paypal Account. Buyers are buying in his ecom Platform A and paying by paypal.
The same merchant is also using a 3rd party system that fetches order information from this merchant that is selling on ecom Platform A. On this 3rd party system the merchant also connected their PayPal Account.
So the flow is:
- Buyer buys on ecom Platform A
- Buyer pays with paypal
- ecom Platform A sends the order information with the paypal payment identifier to the 3rd party system the merchant is using
- 3rd party system wants to "update" this specific transaction that was placed via paypal from the Buyer on the ecom Platfrom A, to instruct paypal to do a split payment for this specific transaction id
