I'm working on a project that upgrades the deprecated NVP / SOAP API and implements new Subscriptions API to perform recurring payments.
Now, the current flow is the following:
1. User subscribes to the service
2. User pays 5 USD for the first 3 months of the service (we are using Trial period with 3 billing cycles for that - working in old NVP/SOAP)
3. After the 3 months, user pays 9 USD for an unlimited period (until user ceases the service)
We have tried to apply the same rules for the new Subscriptions API, but seems that the new API charges the user for the first 3 months upfront.
This is not ok for us and we want the user to pay month by month, as the user might decide to cancel after 2 months.
Is there any configuration/setup in the Subscriptions API that we can do in order to achieve monthly billing and avoid upfront payment for the trial period?
Obviously, if you have other suggestions please share.
