PayPal Plus: Error paying via direct debit without PayPal account

Hello,

 

for a client I integrated PayPal Plus (Germany) into a shop system.

In sandbox mode everything seems to work fine but in live mode it is impossible to do a payment via direct debit (Lastschrift).

After entering and confirming all data on the paypal website we get a generic error ("Entschuldigung. Leider ist ein Fehler aufgetreten" / "Sorry. An error occured." It works fine when using a paypal account though.

This happened to at least two different people on a PC and mobile. But it seems that it does not work for anybody.

 

We use the "commit" workflow. A debug id from a payment resource, that never reached the point where it was actually executed or even commited: 8ba198ca6cd47

 

I would appreciate any help! How can I debug this?

We have the same problem.

 

Paypal and creditcard work fine, but "Lastschrift" does not work at all. We tried almost everything: 5 different people with their bank accounts, another IP than the one in the company, no relations to the paypal account - everytime the same mistake: "we should use creditcard"
