Hello,
we are using Paypal for my recurring subscriptions on our music education websiten with a 7 day free trial.
PROCESS:
Sign Up with paypal --> 7 Day Free Trial --> If not cancelled payment starts on day 8.
Unfortunately, when people don't have a dollar on their paypal account, the transaction goes "PENDING" and the user CAN NOT enter the free trial. Paypal forces them to have a credit card attached to the account.
Anybody else has this problem and a work around or another provider?
Payment Gate: Woocommerce
About 60% of all my new customers via paypal show "PENDING".
This is a huge problem. Please advice a workaround (like "Gocardless" etc...)
Thanks for your help. Greatly appreciated.
Nate

How do. for PayPal recurring Payments users are required to have a card on their account (their are exceptions though e.g. Netherlands). This is part of how the recurring payment platform works so no way around this.
If you want to PM me across some of the PayPal subscription ID's and I can take a look to ensure that this is the reason for the pending status
