Able to capture payment, but in customer account the status still showing as 'PENDING'

I am working on integrating PayPal into my PWA system and using the Paypal java sdk for showing the Paypal button. I am authorizing the payment and then even successfully capturing it. But when I check in sandbox customer account used for paying, the payment status is still showing as pending.

What are you using as the funding source when paying?  If it's an e-check it could be pending because those take a few days to clear.

 

If it's not an e-check it should be giving you some sort of "pending reason" on either the buyer or seller side when reviewing the transaction details.

 

The pending reason is also typically available in the API response and/or IPN/Webhooks.
