Overspent PayPal card

I had $22 on card and told husband $22. He put $28 in gas in my truck. Now what happens when that $28 pops?

First thing I can think of is that your PayPal account will go in the negative of $6, then you'll have to add money from your linked bank or be charged for it next time you make a purchase with PayPal account or any incoming funds come into your PayPal account, it'll be deducted.

And if you're able to link a back up funding source to the card, then PayPal will tap that.
