My Points gives error when attempting to redeem PayPal reward

If you are a member of MyPoints, and you try to redeem a PayPal reward, you may be presented with the following error:

This occurs because the name on your PayPal account and your name on MyPoints are not EXACT matches. It seems trivial, but it will stop a payment from processing. To correct this, make sure your name on PayPal and MyPoints are an EXACT match. If you need to change your name on PayPAL, it is quicker to call them and have it done over the phon[Removed. Phone #s not permitted].

Absolute pain in the rear.  Associates here don't even know about the association with MyPoints (referred me to a credit card) and then you have to jump through hoops to change name.  Stinks.
