In case my subject line is confusing, here is what I need to know:
I only recently learned about Groups, something I think will be very useful to me because I run a FB group that reaches out to immigrants in need, and I have more than one fundraising initiative going at a time.
So I created three Groups (or maybe they are called sub-groups?) for the current different initiatives. Here is my dilemma: I have a balance of X amount of money in my original individual PayPal account, but I want to SPLIT THAT TOTAL AMOUNT between my newly formed groups. Is there a way for me to do this within PayPal?

I err on the side of: If it isn't already mentioned in the documentation that something can be done, then it can't be done.
Since you're not able to contribute to your own money pools, its not possible to transfer the money out to your balance and then contribute it a cut to the subsequent pools to do what you're describing.
