All I want is to be able to add money to my account at a Wal*Mart or DG using a bar code and yet, PayPal wants my SSN information... Why??? Even without giving them this information I can still send money to friends using a pre-paid debit card so why should I have to give up very sensitive personal info just to add money to my account. Seems a little unnecessary to me. Every 20 seconds in the US someone's identity is stolen by arbitrarily demanding information like this PayPal directly facilitates this. I could understand giving my SSN if I were RECEIVING money (for tax purposes), all I want to do is add money... Odd.
