I'm giving up trying to get my paypal card activated

I have a paypal card with the Activate Today sticker but can't activate it.  I've called a bunch of times and just get shunted over to the paypal business debit number o[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]which is supposed to help with activation but that number cannot bring up an operator.  

 

I've had a paypal card for many years.  I went online to request a new card because I thought there was a fradulent purchase.  Paypal sent the very same card out again.  The original card stopped working after ordering the new card so from that moment on I haven't had a working card.  I disputed the suspected purchase but my bank just pushed the amount back on paypal.  I was able to call paypal and a very helpful person helped research the charge and eventually I decided it was a legitimate charge and I pay the paypal balance.  The helpful person suggested waiting a couple of days for the payment to settle and then try to activate the card.  It's been in limbo since then.  I can't get the card activated and can't get an operator who can (or will) determine what is needed to be done so I can get a paypal card.  

 

Paypal used to be very easy to work with.  It seems that has changed and now it has become a bureaucratic nightmare.

Obvious question, did you try to activate it online? If so, were you getting error messages?

 

Go to this page and click the Activate Now link and it'll ask you to log on:

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/business-debit-card

 

Otherwise you'll have to keep contacting customer service for assistance:

Log on, click HELP on top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US or other contact options.

Call early, during business hours, west coast time to try to get a US rep.
